Cyber Security for Defence Suppliers

Cyber essentials is now a key element in the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP), a joint Ministry of Defence (MoD) and industry initiative designed to protect the defence supply chain against cyber threats. Cyber Essentials will become a requirement for defence contracts from 1st January 2016.

Key Points of the Scheme

Cyber Essentials Scheme (CES) certification is a base requirement for all defence contracts and Cyber Essentials plus Scheme (CES+) is now a requirement for three of the four categories of defence contract.

Applicability

DCPP is to be implemented as standard procedure across all contracts on behalf of the MOD, furthermore, suppliers subcontracted for elements of a contract will also be bound by it. For more information on Cyber Essentials Scheme for Defence contracts, please click here.
